Harry M. Markowitz, PhD

Harry M. Markowitz is best known for winning the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 1990 for his work on portfolio selection. In his distinguished career, Dr. Markowitz has served in various academic posts at many universities, including Baruch College, London School of Economics, London Business School, University of Tokyo, Rutgers University, Hebrew University, the Wharton School and UCLA. He is also a board member (and former president) of the American Finance Association and was a fellow of the Econometric Society. Recognized as the founder of Modern Portfolio Theory and one of the nation’s best known minds in finance, Dr. Markowitz is a professor of finance in the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego. He is also president of the Harry Markowitz Company and has worked for companies such as IBM and the Rand Corporation. He received his PhD in economics from the University of Chicago.

Meir Statman, PhD

Meir Statman is the Glenn Klimek Professor of Finance at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University. His research focuses on behavioral finance. He attempts to understand how investors and managers make financial decisions and how these decisions are reflected in financial markets. His research has been published in The Journal of Finance, The Journal of Financial Economics, Financial Analysts Journal, and The Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, among others. Dr. Statman’s research has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, the Research Foundation of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts, and the Dean Witter Foundation. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Journal of Portfolio Management and the Journal of Investment Consulting and a recipient of a Batterymarch Fellowship and a Graham and Dodd Award. He received his PhD from Columbia University and his BA and MBA from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Sanjiv Das, PhD

Sanjiv Das is Professor of Finance and Associate Dean for Faculty Development at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. He previously held faculty appointments as Associate Professor at Harvard Business School and UC Berkeley. He holds post-graduate degrees in Finance (MPhil and PhD from New York University), Computer Science (MS from UC Berkeley) and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He did undergraduate work in Accounting and Economics (University of Bombay, Sydenham College) and is also a qualified Cost and Works Accountant. He is an associate editor of Management Science, senior editor of The Journal of Investment Management and co-editor of The Journal of Derivatives. Prior to being an academic, he worked in the derivatives business in the Asia-Pacific region as a Vice President at Citibank. His current research interests include the modeling of default risk, algorithms for harvesting financial information from the web, derivative pricing models, portfolio theory and venture capital.

Larry Harvey, ChFC


A long time board member and founding advisor at Bellatore Financial, Inc., Larry Harvey assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2014. As CEO, he is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm. He stands behind the firm’s commitment to provide the services and support required to help advisors reach their true potential while making a significant impact in their clients’ lives, and the lives of their families and communities.

Larry also manages an independent registered investment advisor in The Woodlands, Texas. He is a financial advisor and planning consultant with nearly 30 years of experience providing comprehensive and wealth management strategies for high net-worth and affluent individuals, families and small business owners. He is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and an Investment Advisor Representative who helps a select group of accepted clientele make strategic and informed financial decisions that propel them to achieve their desired lifestyle and financial goals. Larry is a 6-time recipient of the Five Star Wealth Manager Award from 2009 to 2014. This award is achieved by less than 3% of wealth managers in the Houston area.

Larry started his career in 1985 with Lutheran Brotherhood (now Thrivent) as an insurance agent and registered representative. He was promoted to management as an Associate General Agent and served as the Estate and Charitable Planning Specialist as well as the Investment Planning Specialist for the southeast region of the USA. In 1998, he founded Harvey Financial Group, an independent and fee-based financial planning and investment advisory firm. In 2008, he launched HFG Wealth Management, a fee-only firm dedicated to providing family-office services to select high net-worth individuals, families and business owners nationwide.

Larry holds degrees in accounting and business management from the University of Tampa. He earned his ChFC designation from American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the Society of Financial Service Professionals.

Eric Zagala

Director, Client Services

Mr. Zagala serves as Director of Client Service of Bellatore Financial. In this role, he is responsible for managing the firm’s trading and operations functions. Mr. Zagala has more than 18 years of securities trading and operations experience with ten of them in the Turnkey Asset Management Platform. Prior to joining Bellatore Financial, he held various trading and operations positions at BA Investment Services, Barclays Global Investors Inc., Charles Schwab and Co. Inc., and most recently, Genworth Financial. Mr. Zagala earned a B.S. in Finance from De La Salle University and an M.B.A. from University of Phoenix.

Henry Pizzutello

Chief Investment Officer

Henry Pizzutello brings 30 years of investment experience to Bellatore and will be responsible for directing, managing and monitoring all investment activity, risk management and portfolios. He will be working with external analysts, and maintaining good investor relations.

Prior to coming to Bellatore, Henry was the Chief Investment Officer for Rhame & Gorrell Wealth Management where he was responsible for all investment and risk management activities. Before moving to Texas, he served as the Director of Alternative Investments for Private Capital Advisors in the Greater New York City Area. In 2010, as CIO of Centaur Performance Group, he was the recipient of Barclay’s HedgeWeek’s “Best Credit Fund” for risk adjusted performance during the financial crisis. He has managed over $1 billion in proprietary assets for Canadian Imperial Bank, Jefferies & Co., and Nomura Securities International. Henry has also served as Managing Director and head trader for the Bass family of Ft. Worth, TX, managing their convertible bond arbitrage group.

Mr. Pizzutello will be the presenting speaker on “Incorporating Liquid Alternatives into Client Portfolios” at the upcoming 2019 Private Wealth Management Summit in Rancho Mirage, CA.

Henry grew up in Westchester County, New York and lived in Connecticut before moving to The Woodlands with his wife, Christine, of 30 years and their four children. He is an avid reader, enjoys sports and exercise, and plays guitar in his spare time. Henry holds a Finance Degree from Georgetown University.
